NEW Mentorship opportunity: Yet to Ascertain the Nature of the Crime is a new documentary theatre work being produced by Melbourne Workers’ Theatre. The script is constructed entirely from interviews with real people, looking at the official denial of racism when it comes to attacks against Indian students in Victoria.

Director Gorkem Acaroglu, Dramaturge Alana Valentine, Performance Consultant John Bolton and performers Greg Ulfan, Georgina Naidu, Andreas Litras and Olga Makeeva will be devising this new work.
The Creative Development takes place over April/May/June and rehearsals begin August for an October show. If you are a young writer/director/theatre maker who has some experience making theatre and a genuine passion and commitment to the form, then this may be for you.

This mentorship will provide you with access to every facet of the development of a documentary play. From research, through to interviewing, to workshopping to rehearsals and production.
Key Dates The creative team will be conducting research over April and May. A one week workshop will take place 7-11th June. Your role will be to assist with research, interviewing, director’s assistant in the workshop. Future collaboration will be discussed after the one-week workshop, with an opportunity to remain onboard during rehearsals up to production.
