I love Andrea. I love the way she’s enchanted me from the very first time I met her. I love the way that every word she speaks seems touched by beauty, and the way others always listen with that hint of awe that is her due. I love that even though she usually comes across as older than me, every now and then her smile lights her up in such a way that she looks absolutely carefree.
I love Amanda. I love the way she says “Thank you” for every kiss and hug. I love the way her hugs are so sincere and full of love. I love her voice, and the way I can just listen to her sing the same songs over and over again without getting at all tired of hearing it.
I love Lisa, of course, for as many reasons as there are stars in the sky. But I love the way she is so loving, and not only expresses that and begets it herself, but encourages and enables the people around her to express their love to each other.
I love Kayla. I love that, despite having a long journey to connect with the material we’re working with, she’s stuck by us and had the bravery, determination and strength of mind to be a vital party of our community and our creation.
I love Ezer. I love the way that with a few words, he can drain all the tension out of a room. I love that he’s so down to earth, and that he has such a peaceful aura.
I love Lion. I love that he is so ready to talk to anyone and everyone, to ask how they’re doing, and share something of himself with them.
I love Sinead. I love the way her smile seems to light up the whole world. I love that she smiles so often, even when she’s complaining that it’s too hot. I love the way that we seem to be able to click into what each other are doing so well, even without words.
I love Sophia. I love the way that she can always surprise me. I love that there’s always something else going on behind those beautiful eyes, some quiet amusement. I love the way we move together, our dance, and that head over shoulder, we fit together so perfectly.
I love Maria. I love that she’s so fascinating, and fascinated. I love that she’s been able to slip into our group so easily, as if she’d been there all along. I love that everyone loves her already. I love that hugs seem to be a way of life to her.
I love Samak. I love the way he always has some little piece of wisdom to share with me, and then a laugh as well. I love that for all he knows, he’s just as willing to listen to the words of others. I love his playfulness, and the way he never hesitates to get involved with anything, no matter how outlandish it may seem.
I love Elena. I love the way her heart and mind are so open. I love her kindness and her generosity, and the bravery she’s finding in being a part of this. I love the moments where she’s able to trust a little more.
I love Neil. I love his wit, and that he’s so easy to get along with, even though he makes a joke of pretending not to be. I love the way his heart seems to have softened to all of us, and that he leaves us in no doubt as to the fact that he really does enjoy our company.
I love Aksana. I love the way her style changes so much and so often that she could be a different person, yet somehow, she is still inimitably and irrevocably Aksana. I love the way that it seems like to her, the whole world is every bit as cool as she is.
I love Ban. I love the way that she can appear so cool, calm, collected and elegant, even after pushing me, a bloke twice her size, around in a wheelbarrow for an hour. I love that she laid all my worries about working so closely with someone who hadn’t been to the workshops to rest so quickly.
I love Clare. I love that she’s stuck with us since the very beginning, and seen the show, and us, through all our various changes. I love the way her quiet calm pervades everything, and stops so many people and things from spiralling off into the crazy. I think a lot of the easy, harmonious nature of everything to do with the show is in large part thanks to her.
I love Justin. I love his laugh and his smile, and his sense of wonder. I love the way he gets along so easily with everyone, and wants so much to learn about them. I love that people are so fascinating and wonderful to him.
I love Sarah. I love the way everything seems to be a cause to smile for her. I love that she seems to have a limitless source of energy to give to the creation and to the people around her.
I don’t really know the two new Runners yet, but I’m sure I’ll get to know them soon!
I love Sophie. I love that even though she really only signed on to be the photographer, she got involved with the discussions and even participated in the dramatic parts of workshops. I love the way that, in those early days, we seemed to speak echoes of each other’s minds.
I love Helen. I love that she’s willing to share her knowledge and experience with everyone, without elitism, and that she’s so devoted to making this project as expansive and accessible as it can possibly be.
I love Myf. I love the way she gets so involved with everything, with such devotion, every step of the way. I love that she’s behind this to give us new strength, even as we approach the hardest part of the journey. I love that she brings an extra spark of light and enthusiasm every time she’s with us.
I love Rose. I love that wherever there is Platform, there is Rose, and the way that she is undoubtedly a second Mum to us all. I love her total devotion to looking after us, and way she can make everyone feel so loved and taken care of. I love that she is the soul of Platform.
I love Adam. If Rose is the Mum of the group, then he is the Dad. I love that he is so clearly committed to looking after us every step of the way on this journey. I love his wit, his intelligence, his drive, and that he so deeply and genuinely cares. I love that he is creating something so beautiful with us.
I love Caitlin. We have our Mum and Dad, and I think that makes Caitlin our Big Sister. I love the way that she too is so devoted not only to the show, but to us. I love the way she keeps such a cool head, and doesn’t get nearly as stressed or freaked as I’m sure she could get away with. I love that her control makes it look easy. I love that she’s there for us.
This is why I’m loving being a part of One is Warm in Winter, the Other has a Better View.
