DOES CURIOSITY KILL THE CAT? Writing for theatre When you see a play, do you ever wonder what was written down? Many people contribute to the life of the theatre 'cat'. Director; lighting, sound, stage and costume designers; actors; and last but not least, the audience. Spend some time with a team of Melbourne's experienced theatre-makers and Platform Youth Theatre company members. Together we will unpack short scripted exceprts and a DVD from recent PYT productions to find out more about how each role engages with the scripted page. Kids 10 to 14 in Darebin Why? Because it's FUN!!! Join Curious Legends and Platform Youth Theatre as we create a show from scratch! Come learn new skills, meet friends and have an awesome time. You'll write the show, rehearse it and perform with us in December. Themed on friendship, this project will involve interactive web media that includes all of Darebin. PLATFORM IS... We work with professional artists to create theatre with, for and by young people. Since our first production in 1998, Platform has carved a niche for itself as a company with a youth-focussed approach to making quality work. We are inclusive - so you can get involved if you have professional artistic ambitions or you just want to meet new people and have a new experience. And there are NO participation fees to be involved with our projects. (You will need to become a member though so you are covered by insurance.) We aim to listen to you - we are a local arts company and we have a majority of young people on our Committee of Management to actively shape the work we do.
